Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation (CSCF):

Making Learning Fun

The Challenge

The Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation (CSCF) needed an online, mobile-accessible program to teach the science of sun safety to students in grades 5-12 across Canada. Oh, and it needed to keep the kids’ attention.

As well, the CSCF needed to provide teachers with a tool to schedule live presentations, and students with a registration process that was simultaneously simple to complete and effective at capturing the data required to satisfy funding stakeholders.

The Solution

BaseCorp’s consulting team of project and IT managers met with CSCF to establish the parameters of the program, and set to work creating the instructional and media design for two Storyline courses.

The delivery of the courses had to coincide with the launch of a new website, so BaseCorp designers worked with CSCF’s marketing firm to ensure branding consistency.

The Results

A fun, avatar-facilitated product called the “Go Safe Sun Safety eLearning Classes,” accessible on iPad devices, is reaching thousands of students across Canada.
